to Audition for KVYSO.

There is no fee to audition.

We regularly hold auditions in January, June, and September. You are also welcome to audition at any time. Please contact Lori Scheck at info@kvyso.org.

All students (KVYS and KVYO new and returning): complete the AUDITION AND REGISTRATION FORM. As soon as we receive your submission, we will send you an audition time.

1. SCALES - All instruments: 1, 2, or 3 octave scale of your choice.   

2. SOLO -  Choose 2-3 minutes of two contrasting pieces to show your beautiful tone and attention to musical detail.

3. SIGHT READING - Ssight-reading will be provided at your audition.

• Prepare the excerpts, and complete a full audition as if you are a new student, including:

• Solo selection (2-3 minutes each of any 2 contrasting pieces)

• Scales

  • Strings: 3-octave scale

  • Winds: 2-3 octave scale
