Kennebec Valley Youth Symphony

The Kennebec Valley Youth Symphony is modeled on professional orchestras, playing a wide variety of original orchestral compositions, including full concertos in both the fall and spring programs. This ensemble is appropriate for advanced student musicians who demonstrate technical mastery and beauty of expression. KVYS offers the opportunity to perform with other outstanding middle & high school students who are excited to expand their musical horizons!
Previous ensemble experience and private instruction are highly recommended. Students are expected to continue participation in their school orchestra and/or band programs.
KVYS is conducted by Michael P. Atkinson, who is an accomplished musician new to Maine. For more information about Mr. Atkinson, please visit his website: https://michael-p-atkinson.com/.
KVYS meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:45pm at Hope Baptist Church: 726 Western Ave, Manchester.
We hold regular auditions in September, February, and May, but rolling auditions are available throughout the year.
